Who we are
Kwame Driving School & Computer College Ltd, Maai Mahiu, Kenya, is responsible for the personal data collected on this website. Contact us about anything in this notice at kwamedrivingschool@gmail.com or 0143 754 721.
What we collect
When you send a booking or enrollment request, we collect:
- the course you chose, and your preferred start date and time of day;
- your full name, phone number and email address;
- your gender;
- your national ID or passport number;
- anything you write in the message box.
When you leave a review on our home page, we collect the name you give, the course you studied, your star rating and your review. Once we have checked a review, we publish the name, course, rating and review on our website for anyone to see. Ask us at any time and we will remove your review.
We also record your IP address and browser type with each request and review, to stop spam and repeated automated submissions.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about your request and arrange your lessons or classes.
- To identify you when you enroll, and, for driving students, to register you with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) for your driving test and licence where required.
- To keep the records we need to run our courses.
We process your data to take the steps you ask for when you send us a booking request, before you enroll with us, and with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who sees it
Your request is stored securely in our website's database and emailed to the school's inbox. Only our staff can see it. We never sell your data. We share it only:
- with NTSA, when needed for driving tests and licences;
- with the companies that host this website and provide our email, which store it on our behalf;
- when the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only as long as we need them to handle your request and your training, and to keep any records the law requires. We delete booking requests that don't lead to enrollment once they are no longer needed.
Cookies and other services
This site sets one cookie, only when you use the booking form or open the review form, to protect those forms from forged submissions. It does not track you. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, the contact page shows a Google Map, and the chat button opens WhatsApp. These services receive your IP address when you load or use them, under their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- be told how your personal data is used;
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- object to how we use all or part of it;
- have false or misleading data corrected;
- have false or misleading data deleted.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
